Booth Relief Chair
What is the Purpose
The Booth Relief Chair provides volunteers to temporarily staff the booths of artists and demonstrators so their might have 15 to 20 minute breaks. The volunteer answers questions and watches the art at the booth but does not sell anything.
Who is Involved
The Booth Relief Chair is appointed by the Indian Fair & Market Chair. The Booth Relief Chair may select a co-chair to assist. They, in turn, recruit 35-45 volunteers to provide the booth relief.
What are the Tasks
Prepare and submit a budget to the Chair of the Indian Fair & Market.
Recruit volunteers to provide the booth relief.
- there is a morning and afternoon shift each day.
- approximately 12 volunteers are needed for each shift.
Attend the General Fair meeting with the Division and Area Chairs.
Confer with the Fair Chair, Staging Chair, and Signage Chair for booth and signage needs.
- signs are needed to locate and identify the Relief Booth.
- when circulating, each volunteer carries a “Booth Relief”sign so that they are more visible to the artists.
Confirm volunteers commitment and verify their schedules.
Submit the list of volunteers to the Volunteer Placement Chair for badges to be made.
Set up booth on Friday prior to the Fair, co-chairs staff the booth.
Volunteers rove each of the artist and demonstrator areas to offer assistance when needed.
Submit vouchers (with receipts) for any expenses to the Guild Treasurer.
Acknowledge, by thank you notes or other means, appreciation for the work done by the volunteers.
Prepare and submit four copies of the annual Booth Relief Chair Report to the Indian Fair & Market Chair using the Sample Committee Report Format as a guide. These reports will be distributed to the incoming Indian Fair & Market Chair; Booth Relief Chair; and President. One copy will be filed in the Museum’s Library and Archives.

August
