Admissions Chair
What is the Purpose
The Admissions Chair is responsible for recruiting and supervising a crew of cashiers whose job is to sell admission tickets to the Indian Fair & Market.
Who is Involved
The Admissions Chair is appointed by the Indian Fair & Market Chair. The Admissions Chair may select a co-chair. They, in turn, recruit 30-40 volunteers to assist.
What are the Tasks
Prepare and submit a line item budget to the Indian Fair & Market Chair.
Recruit volunteers to work during the Fair.
- There are two admissions booth to be staffed.
- There are two shifts per day to be staffed.
Attend the General Fair meetings with the Division and Area Chairs.
Consult with the Scrip Sales Chair to determine the color of tickets to be used.
Purchase tickets to be used for Admissions.
Consult with Fair Chair, Staging Chair, and Signaage Chair concerning booth and sign needs.
- one booth at the Central Avenue entrance with 6-8 cashiers.
- one booth at the Monte Vista entrance with 3-5 cashiers.
Submit a drawing of the booth floor plan showing the placement of tables and chairs to be submitted to the Chair of Staging.
Confirm volunteer commitments and verify their schedules.
Submit the list of volunteers to the Volunteer Placement Chair for badges to be made.
Set up booths on Friday prior to the Fair and clean out booths at the end of the Fair on Sunday.
Arrange with the Guild Treasurer for cash boxes, start up bank, change, and money pickups during the Fair.
Oversee the admissions process during the Fair.
- One Co-Chair will oversee the Central Avenue booth.
- One Co-Chair will oversee the Monte Vista booth.
- Cashiers will sell tickets, collect money, and make change.
- The Co-Chairs will be responsible for turning money over to the collectors from the Money Room.
Submit expense vouchers (with receipts) to the Guild Treasurer for payment.
Acknowledge, by thank you notes or other means, appreciation for the work done by the volunteers.
Prepare and submit four copies of the annual Admissions Chair Report to the Indian Fair & Market Chair using the Sample Committee Report Format as a guide. These reports will be distributed to the incoming Indian Fair & Market Chair; Admissions Chair; and President. One copy will be filed in the Museum’s Library and Archives.

August
